BELFOR
Hurricane Sandy recovery efforts

In October 2012, Hurricane Sandy hit the northeastern United States causing more than $33 billion in damage to homes, business and infrastructure.

BELFOR, the largest restoration service provider in the country, called on Minutemen to mobilize our experienced team of temporary restoration workers and supervisors to travel to the affected areas and assist with the cleanup and rebuilding efforts.

Within 48 hours, Minutemen rushed more than 50 workers to the storm-battered areas ready to begin work. We secured housing and transportation for our workers and supplied them with the necessary safety gear to tackle dangerous conditions.

Minutemen's crews remained in New York and New Jersey for more than 70 days, helping with both government- and private-sector infrastructure reconstruction. Our team worked through Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years to help finish the job on time and on budget.

PARTY CITY
E-commerce distribution center

When Party City began their e-commerce operations in 2009, Minutemen was there to provide the distribution center staffing they needed to get started.

Minutemen established an on-site recruiting and supervision program at Party City's distribution center in Illinois. Not only did Minutemen recruit all the distribution center staff Party City needed to get operations started, but also provided orientation and training to keep things running smoothly after the initial launch.

Party City's sales skyrocketed – doubling annually for three consecutive years – and Minutemen was there every step of the way. We recruited more than 200 full-time and 300 seasonal employees to meet demand. Party City continues to experience large growth and is perceived as an industry example for best practices for e-commerce management.

FANNIE MAY
Specialty food production

Founded in Chicago in 1920, Fannie May operates more than 100 retail locations in six states and Canada, selling an assortment of gourmet chocolates and other candy. When the company moved production to North Canton, Ohio, it needed a staffing agency that could provide skilled workers and keep up with seasonal demand.

Minutemen responded by partnering with Fannie May to recruit more than 100 temporary food industry workers. Minutemen provided screening and training to ensure Fannie May's workers meet the company's high standards.

During the holidays, an increased seasonal demand for chocolate requires Fannie May to operate multiple shifts with additional workers. Minutemen responded quickly to Fannie May's needs, adjusting staffing levels on a shift-by-shift basis to meet real-time changes in product inventory and demand.
